Delete your Spider Grills app account

This page is for the Spider Grills app, the app for the Venom® controller, made by Spider Grills, LLC. It explains how to delete your app account and what happens to your information when you do.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open the Spider Grills app and sign in.
  2. Tap Profile.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account, under Log out.
  4. Read what will happen, then tap Delete my account.
  5. If you signed in with Apple, confirm with Apple when the app asks, so we can remove Spider Grills from your Apple Account. If you skip this step, your account is still deleted, and you can remove Spider Grills yourself in your Apple Account settings, under Sign in with Apple.

Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out on every phone.

Delete it without the app

Email [email protected] from the email address you use to sign in to the app, with the subject Delete my account. If you signed in with Apple and hid your email, tell us that, and we will find your account another way.

We reply to that address to confirm the request came from you, then delete the account within 30 days and email you when it is done.

Before you delete

Deleting your app account does not cancel charcoal delivery or Spider Cellular Service. To end either one, email [email protected] before you delete, and we will stop it. You can also pause charcoal delivery in the app: Profile > Charcoal delivery. An order that has already shipped still arrives.

What is deleted

  • Your name, email address, profile photo and sign-in credentials.
  • The pairing of your grills to your account. Your Venom® controllers keep working, and you or anyone else can pair them again.
  • Your cook history, with the names and notes you added to your cooks.
  • Your app sessions and your notification token, so you are signed out everywhere and the app stops sending you notifications.
  • Your Klaviyo profile: we ask Klaviyo, our email platform, to delete it, which also takes you off our email list.
  • If you signed in with Apple, the app's access to your Apple ID: we revoke it.

What we keep, and for how long

  • A record that the account existed. An internal account number, when the account was created and deleted, and how it signed in, with no personal information.
  • Your grill's own data. What a grill reports about its own operation (temperatures, fan, connection, firmware) and its place, to about 1 km, stay with the grill, not with you, for as long as we support that grill.
  • Support tickets, with their attachments and app logs, for 5 years after the ticket closes, in case you need warranty help or we need to look back at a problem. You can ask us to delete them sooner at [email protected].
  • Order and payment records for 7 years after the order, because tax and accounting law requires them. Your orders on spidergrills.com are not affected by deleting the app account.
  • Crash reports and app analytics, which are not tied to your name or email address, expire on their own: crash reports within 90 days, analytics within 14 months.
  • Backups. Deleted information can stay in our encrypted backups for up to 7 days before they roll off. Two exceptions: a one-time database snapshot taken on October 5, 2026, during a security upgrade, and an older snapshot of a 2021 development database are kept until November 30, 2026, when both are deleted automatically.
  • De-identified totals. Counts from support tickets (for example, tickets about a pit probe each year, by product) are kept after the tickets are deleted. They carry nothing that identifies you.

Delete some of your data and keep your account

  • A grill: open the grill, tap Settings (the gear), then Delete device.
  • A cook: in the grill's cook log, press and hold the cook, then Delete.
  • The place you set for a grill: Profile > Grill location, then go back to automatic.
  • Marketing email: the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.
  • Promotional notifications: Profile > Preferences, then turn off Promotions and news.
  • AI help on support tickets: Profile > Preferences, then turn off Suggested fixes for support tickets.
  • Anything else, such as your profile photo or an old support ticket: email [email protected] and tell us what you want deleted.
