The Kettle Grill Evolved

Battery lasted through a 10 cook. I put it back on charge once the cook was done.. Powered my Giant Huntsman like a charm no issues with the unit.

I had been looking at this for close to 6 months or so before I ended up purchasing it and I’m glad I finally did. I’ve only used it twice since I installed it onto my 22” Weber kettle as we’ve been having some naders and a ton of rain. From the two times I’ve used it I just did a couple basic cooks and that was a pork butt and then a couple of chuck roasts and ended up doing the chuck roasts as burnt ends over smoked baked potatoes. Both cooks this spider venom held it at a precise 225 degrees the entire time until I moved it up to 275 degrees. I had seen that it had fluctuated a degree once or twice and that’s more than acceptable. I like that I can control a monitor my Weber kettle and run errands and not have to worry just as you would with a pellet grill and ThermoWorks RFX probes. The flavor of charcoal a wood chunks just can’t be beat. Yea you could run an offset smoker but you’re not leaving that unattended for several hours at a time like you can with the spider venom controller. I still will use my pellet grills but I’ve really been doing 90% of my cooks lately on the good ole Weber kettle. I absolutely love this spider venom controller. I’ve been looking at the spider venom kettles and they’re very nice and built like a tank but a premium price and yes you’ll pay for what you get so that Giant Huntsman is on my wish list. If you’re contemplating on picking up the spider venom controller, do it. You won’t regret it.

I recently bought venom controller and it's amazing. I used to smoke food on my 22" Weber Kettle grill manually. Meaning I was who controlled the temperature and it was time consuming especially on a long cook like a brisket or a pulled pork. With venom I can do my staff while it's control the temperature. And it's doing it really well (the temperature stays within +- 5F of a target).

Just cooked 2 chickens on rotisserie Webber grill. Took all the pain of me having to check the temperature the whole time. It was simple and makes me want to grill more often now.

Pair it with an Onlyfire ceramic insert for the ultimate smoker/grill. I questioned the price, but it’s 100% worth it. The hinge is excellent, plus it provides two levels of smoking space. Now waiting on my new spider legs.

I received my Giant Hunstman last week after patiently waiting for it to arrive. After trying nearly every other type of smoker/grill on the market, I finally found my soulmate. The Giant Huntsman was built for me I believe. I've used it twice already and already I can vouch for the ease and versatility of this smoker BBQ.

My first cook, was three racks of baby back ribs, cooked low and slow using the 3-2-1 rib method and it was by far the best experience I've ever had making ribs. The Giant fit all three racks perfectly and they turned out amazing. Having the controllability of the venom and the wireless option with the addition of the the battery pack was an absolute game changer. Not having to have it plugged in the whole time opened the door for me to move the Huntsman wherever I wanted with having to drag the unsightly cord across the yard.

After that I used it as a traditional BBQ and made chicken on the grill. Turned out as amazing as I'd hoped they would. I use lump charcoal and the smoke flavor was perfect all the way around every piece I made. I purchased the optional deluxe cooking kit, the side shelves and the pizza oven as well. the options are limitless and only good things can come from here. I am super excited to see what the future holds for our family using the Giant Huntman. Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE ours.!.!

I have been using Spider Grills for a long time. I have never had a problem with them helping me when there is a little hick-up. In fact they have listened to some of my suggestions. I started with a venom on a Webber and now have a Huntsman. I am happy with it and it has provided us with many meals. Thank-you Spider Team.

What a great package! This package is the secret to unlocking the full potential of the Huntsman/Giant Huntsman. The side shelf system benefit is obvious. It’s well made and well thought out. The “NextLevel” cooking system is exactly that. Talk about upping your game…. It’s so flexible, and allows everything from the perfect reverse sear, to multiple indirect cooking options. The split racks and cooking stone are exactly the right answer. Even the small the cooking grate rack that mounts to the base is invaluable.

Go all in on the bundle if you can - you won’t be sorry. If you have to choose, get the nextlevel cooking system. Wow Spider Grills…. Just wow…. And thank you!!

I've had this grill for a little less than a month, and it's the first charcoal grill I've ever owned. I quite like it!

Putting it together was relatively straightforward, but I did have issues with the lid and latch. It took me a couple tries and I had to search online to find a video suggesting that I loosen the screws on the latch to get the lid to latch/unlatch easily. It was far too tight of a fit at first and was the only part of assembly that slowed me down.

After a few fits and starts, I think the grill and I have come to a good understanding of how to get to and hold my desired temperatures. I love how well the Venom works (as long as I give it enough fuel!).

Without a doubt best grill I’ve ever cooked on.

Lots of reviews describing the Spider as a "Tank". Although it is probably the sturdiest unit I have ever seen, what really impressed me was Customer Service. I had a problem with a part malfunction. Contacted CS online Saturday afternoon, expecting a reply Monday. Instead received reply Sat. evening, further interaction Sunday and by Wednesday had the replacement part in hand. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Solid, reliable I would suggest to a friend. Great for low and slow.
