I use a Rotisserie Ring (sealed with high heat metal tape) for slow cooks/smoking on my Weber charcoal grills and decided to try a Huntsman Pit Probe; no more fooling around temp with probe grate clips, so far this has worked out great.

Received the side shelves and Next Level system today. As always Spider Grills does a phenomenal job in packaging. The instruction were clear and on point. I liked the fact that they provided mounting points on all 3 sides of the shelves for the stainless trays. I chose to mount both of mine on the front side of the shelves. The process of installing both accessories took all of 15 min.

The Huntsman by Spider Grills has just spun its web and look what I found in mine. This thing is a beast. I have never seen a grill packaged this neatly and securely. It took me all of 45 min to assemble it following the easy directions in the manual. it just finished up with the seasoning and tonight we are going to take it for a spin. If you are looking for a charcoal grill to complement your smoker you should give this one a serious look. This one is made out of thick carbon steel. Taken care of, it will last a lifetime. I see Filets, Baked Potatoes and Corn on the cob. Stay tuned for a new post later today.

Wanted to give a review of the Pizza Oven (Forno Ragno) after I have used it for a while.
Let’s start with the packaging. In true Spider fashion this thing is packaged like a tank. It is well protected by multiple pieces of foam. Unless the delivery guy drops it from over 6 feet, it should survive nicely.
So, I got my Huntsman Pizza insert set up. Want to give you some advice on using it. Clean your grill real well brushing all the left-over coal to the outer edge so that the oven insert will set flush on the bottom grate. I used another grill to start my chimney of coal. If you don’t have that luxury start it in the huntsman and then move the chimney to the ground or some other suitable location. Clear the small pieces of lump to the back and sides to allow the insert to sit flush with the grate and up tight to the door. I have an extra-large chimney which was perfect for giving me enough hot lump to scatter all around the insert. You will probably need tongs to remove any pieces that fall on the insert. Place the rack of stones in top with the chimney facing forward. Plug the probe into the Venom removing the pit probe that is currently plugged in. Turn it on and set it to 600. I originally set it to 500 per the manual but it was taking longer to heat up and I wanted to make sure that the stones on top had heat soaked enough. When my stone got over 475 degrees (Temped with an IR Gun) I added my pizza. Note: do not slide the pizza all the way to the back of the stone. Leave it about 1 inch plus away. This will allow for a more even cook and you won’t burn the back side of the pizza. Yes, you will still need to turn it. I only turned my pizza once and then when it was just about done, I lifted it with the peel and held it close to the top stones. This allowed for nice cupping of pepperoni.
My thoughts after making this pizza. This insert is a winner for pizza. I think setting it to 600 degrees is going to be the sweet spot. Looks like you could get 6 pizzas cooked on a load of lump (baking at 600) It browned this pizza as good as my Alfa Pizza oven for a fraction of the cost. In addition to pizza, I have made Apple Pie and Cedar Planked Salmon in it as well

This pizza oven accessory provides a stone cooking deck that sits directly on the Huntsman's charcoal grate. The cooking deck leaves a gap around the outside edge where you will place charcoal to provide the heat for the cook. The kit also comes with a new ring that holds the two stone dome plates and the chimney. The installation of this kit effectively creates an enclosed pizza oven between the charcoal grate and the normal cooking grate level which you access through the grill's front door.
When I set this up to cook, I filled a Weber style charcoal chimney about 3/4 full with lump charcoal, lit it, and let it get completely engulfed for about 15 minutes. I then dumped that in the gap and spread it out evenly. I placed a good bit of unlit lump charcoal on top of that and then placed the top ceramics on the grill and attached the chimney thermometer to the Venom controller on the grill. From here, I set the Venom to 600°F.
About 10 minutes later, The Venom controller was registering 600°F. It took no time to heat up in that aspect. The stone cooking deck, however, needs additional time to get good and hot. For general pizza cooking, I'd recommend letting the deck temperature (measured with an infrared thermometer) get to at least 450°F. That takes about 30 minutes. After you light the charcoal and get it in the grill, you can use that warmup time to build your pizzas.
I don't plan to stop with pizzas on this setup. This is gonna do a lot of great baking here in the near future!

Simply amazing, it’s like a cheat code for any cook. I have the Weber Kamado E6, popped the old ash catcher off & installed the Venom without taking apart the kamado. Simply moved the ash sweep handle to the left side (so I could mount the Venom facing forward) & had to use a rubber mallet to tap the venom into place on the last tab (that was the only part that was hard) but understandable because I want that sealed tight. Buy with confidence and never have to second guess the vents… Again, VENOM = CHEAT CODE FOR GRILLING!!!!!

First of all, this grill is amazing. It’s so versatile, I love finding excuses to cook on it. The build quality is what you would expect from a grill 2x its price.
I’ve reached out to customer service for a few things and they have always been prompt and knowledgable with their response. They go above and beyond to ensure the customer is happy and are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that.

So far, it’s working just as advertised. Really great product.
I haven’t done a low and slow yet, but I will be soon.
