I’ve tried them all, Traegers, master built (master crap) and the big green egg with no solution to what I was looking for until I came across the Venom. If you’re looking for a charcoal smoker and high temp grill under $1,000 this is the set up. Smoked brisket to seared elk steaks this has you covered. The only problem is the app, you have to constantly close the app and reconnect to the grill to watch temperatures and control the grill. If the app was “live” and on in the background I wouldn’t have a single complaint. Hopefully they fix it soon.
Overall I really like the product and the concept behind it. Do you need it for a kettle? No. Is it flippin sweet though? Heck yeah!
My only gripe was that there were some minor scratches/blemishes on the PID controller itself out of the box. Not sure if it was just a fluke from the production line or what. All it really needed was some plastic film over the controller to prevent that from happening during transit. Other than that I love my Venom!

Thanks for the review and positive hype! We actually do include a very high quality screen protector on our Venoms. It will look exactly like you described, scratched and blemished, until you peel it off. Check around the corners and you should be able to reveal a perfect screen! Spider Grills
This makes my life so much easier. It is rock steady and my ribs come out perfect. Set it and forget it ,almost. The app is full feature , but it needs to be refined. It can be a pain. I plan on buying another one for my 26" Weber.

I've owned this product for about a year it's a game changer. Being in Colorado some days the temperature is all over the place where you can start out the day at 60F, 3 hours later snow..... It's holds temperature amazingly steady. I've done slow cooks, fast cooks it doesn't matter how you like to set the coals, lose, basket, cone etc. Set it and forget it. I even use it with my rotisserie attachment to control the temperature. So with out a doubt, i would recommend 100% you buy it.
